LeRoy / Canaseraga ~ Edward E. Ames, age 71, of West Main Street, passed away Friday afternoon (May 22, 2015) at the V A Hospital in Buffalo in the loving presence of his family. Mr. Ames was born January 5, 1944 in North Hornell, N.Y., a son of the late LaVerne and Rose Whitlock Ames. He served with the US Army after attending SUNY Geneseo for two years. He then worked for the State Hospital in Rochester and Marine Midland Bank, where he retired from at age 48 as their vice president. He also worked at Tops Market in LeRoy for many years as an assistant bakery manager. Ed had a passion for antiques and was a dealer for many years. He had antique shops in Bergen and LeRoy. He is survived by his loving companion, Deborah Finbar of LeRoy; his siblings, Elizabeth (Ernie) Gates of Swain, Lester (Faustine) Ames of KY, George (Carol) Ames of Wesley Chapel, FL; sister in law, Loretta (late Ken) Ames of Canaseraga, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth Ames and Robert Ames. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 7 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy. Services and interment in Bath National Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either Make-A-Wish, 1855 Monroe Ave., Suite 4, Rochester, N.Y. 14618 or United Way of Genesee County, 29 Liberty Street, Batavia, N.Y. 14020.
